At the Australian POTS Foundation, we believe good research and health policy begins with the voices of those who live with the condition.

We support researchers, clinicians, and health organisations to involve people with POTS in meaningful ways — including study design, participant recruitment, and community engagement.

Whether you’re applying for a grant, planning a study, or working on a policy project, we can help connect you with lived experience advisors, support inclusive recruitment, and offer input shaped by the community.

Scroll down to see how we can work together to create research and policy that truly reflects the needs of people with POTS.

Recruiting POTS Participants

We welcome opportunities to recruit for ethically approved research that involves people with POTS — including those with Long COVID-related POTS.

Our goal is to support researchers in engaging the community in ways that are respectful, inclusive, and meaningful. To help avoid research fatigue and ensure appropriate representation, we prioritise studies that:

  • Have involved lived experience in their design
  • Clearly demonstrate benefit to the POTS community

Where appropriate, we may be able to share your study via our website, newsletter, or social media channels.

Ready to collaborate?

To get started first, read our Lived Experience Engagement Framework (linked below) to understand how we work with researchers. Then, follow the steps in our Application Form for Research & Policy Partnership to tell us about your project and how you’d like to collaborate.

Co-design with Us

There is growing recognition of the value in not just recruiting participants, but involving people with lived experience in shaping research and health policy from the very beginning.

As the peak body for people with POTS in Australia, we welcome partnerships with researchers who are committed to genuine engagement of lived experience in research design. Many funding bodies now expect meaningful consumer involvement, and we are here to support you in doing it well.

If you are developing a study and want to involve people with lived experience in its design or as advisors, please take a moment to read our Lived Experience Engagement Framework below. It outlines how we work with researchers and the principles that guide our partnerships.

To express your interest, follow the directions in our Application Form for Research and Policy Partnership. Once we have received your application, we will be in touch to explore how we can collaborate.

Next Steps

If you are interested in recruiting participants or working with us through co-design and research partnerships, please read the documents below which outling our processes and expectations.

Once your application has been submitted, we will be in touch to discuss how we can collaborate to improve outcomes for the POTS community.

You can also follow our social media channels for updates, opportunities, and examples of how we support research and policy partnerships.
